This position will assist in managing the local marketing and advertising efforts for The Melting Pot restaurants franchise community. The Field Marketing Consultant will manage all local marketing activity within a designated territory including but not limited to increasing brand awareness and affinity, adhering to annual promotional calendars and developing and executing local marketing plans to include restaurant promotions that achieve sales, profits and business plan objectives. This is a key role within the Marketing Department as the majority of our marketing activity is conducted at the local level. This position reports directly to the Director of Local Marketing.
Key Duties/Responsibilities
• Identify market and restaurant marketing goals and objectives and develop implementation plans
• Provide effective leadership to franchisees and general managers specific to all marketing initiatives
• Identify and execute sales building initiatives, including identifying market-wide, grass roots and community relations opportunities
• Identify and forecast market needs and develop customized solutions
• Provide regular feedback and analysis to senior marketing staff on sales performance, competitive activity including market insights and anomalies
• Provide direction on media planning, execution and analysis
Desired Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or related fields
• 3-5 years’ experience within a restaurant or retail environment at the field level: includes budgeting, strategic and tactical media planning and project management experience
• In depth knowledge of brand building and sales driving initiatives that are executed on a local level
• A self-starter with strong organization skills and work ethic (ability to work on your own)
• Experience working in a franchise environment with the ability to influence internal and external decision makers
• Ability to work flexible hours including some nights and weekends
• Able to travel frequently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills required
