JOB DESCRIPTION
* Maintain the fixed assets for book and tax use within fixed asset system.
* Record fixed asset acquisitions, transfers and dispositions in the accounting system for multiple companies.
* Prepare monthly journal entries to record monthly depreciation.
* Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed.
* Conduct analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management.
* Provide reporting and support of completion of the monthly cash flow statement in relation to the fixed asset function.
* Assist as needed for both internal and external audit reviews surrounding the fixed asset function.
* Interpret and enforce corporate accounting policies and guidelines as it relates to fixed assets.
* Balance Sheet Analysis and Reconciliations
* Working with Accounting Manager to quickly flag discrepancies, resolve open issues in a timely manner, and understand fluctuations in balances.
* This includes gaining an understanding of the underlying business transactions that influences the reconciliation and working with many departments.
* Reconcile the fixed asset accounts in the fixed assets system to the general ledger.
* Operational Accounting and Analysis.
* Analysis includes working with departments within the organization, to gather information necessary for complete and accurate monthly financial reporting; identifying changes in the business that may impact accounting methods and processes.
* Provide guidance to other departments about the fixed asset policies and procedures.
