Full Job Description – DIRECTOR OF ROOMS
Newly opened luxury resort with marina in St. Petersburg area, FL is looking for a qualified Front Office Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the daily operation of the Front Office, which includes the 18-slip Marina. He/she will also assist in the management of the Housekeeping Department. Of particular importance is the ability to aggressively grow customer satisfaction (evident by increased ADR), facilitate ongoing training behind the desk, and create a cohesive team.
Minimum Requirements:
- High talent for attaining great guest satisfaction and exceeding guest expectations
- Ability to multi-task effectively while taking ownership of actions/problems; aptitude to adopt to changes quickly
- Leadership role in a similar management role, preferably in a resort setting
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and superior time management skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and ability to build strong working relationships with other departments
- Solid interpersonal and employee relation skills are vital — ability to mentor, train, motivate and develop staff
- Sound judgment, work independently with minimal supervision, strong analytical & problem-solving skills
- Experience in RoomMaster a plus
Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversee the efficient & effective scheduling of all Front office staff, including interviewing, onboarding, training, and payroll. Of critical importance is the effective management of AM/PM/AUDIT check lists, assuring all procedures are followed and deviations are promptly corrected
- Accurate reconciliation of OTA commissions as well as data for the monthly STR report
- Demonstrate high competency in MS Office Suite (especially Word, Excel, & Outlook) as well as the Hotel & Marina POS systems
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, consistently reinforced through ongoing training
- Regularly review department policies and procedures and amend where needed; ability to write effective training manuals and check lists and assure their utilization
- Plays a key role in establishing motivation, respect and rapport within all departments
- Assist in other departments as needed; perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned by GM or AGM in a timely manner
- Assist in development of hotel budget and manage to departmental ratios
- Ability to work effectively and calmly in stressful/high pressure situations
- Participate in the Manager on Duty Program as needed
- Performs well with frequent interruptions/distractions
