The bookkeeper is responsible for recording all funds by the church, maintaining contribution records, deposits, accounts payable, tax payments, employment records and account reconciliation. The bookkeeper will also oversee volunteer check signers and money counters.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be able to work closely with the staff and church leadership team. They will have working knowledge of, banking, payroll, IRS regulations pertaining to churches and the importance of confidentially. Bookkeeping experience, Accounting or Finance degree are desirable Minimum of 2 years Quickbooks experience required
Responsibilities
- Financial data entry of Accounts Receivables/Payables
- Responsible for recording all transactions into the church information systems
- Verify cash deposits
- Accurately track and record income and expenses of various fundraising events in a timely manner
- File invoices timely
- Assist audit committee with annual audit
- Record Parishioner stewardship information in a timely manner
- Other duties as assigned by Management
