Overview
The General Manager (GM) has overall responsibility for the success of the property. The GM is a leader at WS Development and has direct reports including a Marketing lead, an Operations lead, and a Property Coordinator. The ideal candidate will be both a strategic leader and a detail-oriented executor. We work in an entrepreneurial environment, so the candidate must possess the ability to pivot and evolve, and to make decisions in a rapidly moving environment. An orientation toward customer service is also paramount as we work to serve our customers, our tenants, and our communities. The day to day work of a GM is highly cross-functional in nature.
Key position accountabilities
•Lead day to day activities of the center including operations, marketing, customer service, sales, and administrative
•Build + manage external partnership relationships, including those with tenants, customers, the community, the government, and financial partners
•Select, and guide your team to select, great and knowledgeable vendors and negotiate the best deals
•Partner with leasing to attract, retain, and grow tenants
•Partner with construction and development to improve the property
•Build and drive strategic brand partnerships, resulting in incremental revenue
•Build + present the property strategy – operations, marketing, financial, competitive landscape
•Manage the property finances and critically evaluate financial trade-offs
•Juggle a large workload with a focus on efficiency and prioritization
•Execute on a large volume of tasks by
oLeveraging and leading cross functional partners (development, construction, leasing, corporate marketing, accounting)
oLeading smooth property operations (property looks great and is inviting, property is safe, budget is met)
oLeading smooth and effective property marketing (strong marketing plan + execution)
•Serve as a member of the MOD rotation (1 weekend day per month)

Education and experience
•College degree required
•Experience in retail property management, retail, consumer goods, or a service industry preferred
