The Director of Global Facilities Management is responsible for delivering an end to end facilities management service Globally across the company’s corporate site network (275+ sites). This will be accomplished by utilizing a common framework of policies and procedures that ensure workplaces are safe, secure and productive for employees and visitors alike. Facilities services will be delivered through a combination of co-sourcing with our chosen IFM (Integrated Facilities Management) partners and an internal Facilities Management team.
Set the global facilities management strategy and lead the global facilities IFM platform, ensuring standard processes and procedures are consistently deployed.
Benchmark facilities performance and make recommendations to ensure key metrics are in line with expectations.
Work with finance teams and business leadership to develop the global facilities AOP (annual operating plan).
Provide transparent financial tracking and reporting ensuring budget goals and commitments are met.
Perform monthly status reviews of budget vs. actual by facility (or other practical segments), identifying significant variances and as necessary, ensure corrective actions are identified, implemented and tracked.
Drive continuous improvements in service levels, operating costs, energy & sustainability, quality and safety.
Continually assess Hard/Soft services indirect spend to ensure service and cost efficiency targets are met.
Establish program & project rigor with aim of driving all facility services indirect spend through the preferred supplier base.
Lead the integration of facility initiatives, ensuring FM resources align with and meet business needs.
Responsible for periodic engagement of regional business leaders to review facilities performance (VOC) and develop action plans with intent to drive continuous improvement.
Closely partner with procurement to establish preferred supplier network across all spend categories and develop a roadmap to execute transitions that achieve productivity and service level objectives.
In close partnership with Global Real Estate, oversee and/or lead site requirements gathering process & collaborate to evaluate real estate scenarios with aim to balance operational and economical objectives for strategy recommendation.
Accountable for global facilities project delivery under direct control or delivered through the preferred outsourced partners.
Engage senior leaders in actively supporting and providing mechanism to obtain functional feedback to gauge overall service performance and areas for continuous improvement.
Provide leadership with timely and accurate feedback of the implementation and results of programs & initiatives.
Interact closely with the finance community to insure all cost benefits are validated, recognized and incorporated into all operating cost reports and capital plans.
Provide required information to senior leadership in a concise and timely manner for the development of capital plans and AOP development.
Provide oversight of company space Standards, Office Mobility program, and other facilities standards to ensure compliance with common polices and procedures.
Work closely with corporate health and safety (HSE) counterparts to ensure alignment and compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Background managing facilities as part of a global real estate portfolio
Preferred
- MBA preferred or advanced facilities management studies and training
- Relevant facilities management certifications or equivalent
- Relevant health and safety (HSE) accreditation or equivalent
- MBA preferred or advanced facilities management studies and training
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organization
- Experience in working in a matrix management environment
- Demonstrated success in developing and leading teams and developing partnerships with business leaders
- Able to demonstrate proven agent of change in a positive and fast-paced environment
- High level of computer skills including Excel proficiency
- High level of project management and organizational skills
- Proven supplier management and development experience
- Thorough understanding of financial analysis and modeling (ie. Net Present Value, Payback, IRR, etc)
- Necessary level of emotional intelligence to effectively manage cross culturally and cross functionally
