Description Job Summary: Under moderate supervision, uses professional creative design knowledge and skills, obtained through education and experience, to collaborate with others to design, develop and create a wide range of marketing and advertising materials. Creates visual elements and composition which support content and storyline. Visually executes against an established project vision and guided parameters of client brand.
Under the guidance of the art director or creative director, designs elements and parts of marketing campaigns for agency clients which may include print and digital components.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Makes key contributions to the themes, ideas and methods used in creating and producing medium- to large-scope initiatives that utilize print and digital techniques, including ads, brochures, newsletters, fliers, direct mail, displays, presentations, posters, statements, financial reports, invitations, announcements and website graphics. Designs and renders original art and design work for illustrating specific data in reports and publications.
Under limited supervision, consults with internal customers regarding design, media and associated costs. Designs, and prepares graphics used in publications, presentations, studies and reports including charts, graphs, designs, colored renderings, and related applications. * Presents work to fellow project teams.
Makes key contributions to graphics production activities, including printing and is accountable for quality assurance. With creative direction, researches and selects graphic design ideas (which may include photos, videos and illustrations). * Ensures that the graphics file management system is maintained.
Remains current in graphic design trends and technologies. Manages deadlines through communication with the team. * Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of: Moderate understanding of design principles Moderate technical skills in page design, layout, image editing and vector graphics Knowledge of and exposure to offset print design and production effects Modest knowledge of and exposure to mediums outside of offset print to which graphic design is applied. Experience with standard printing and production requirements, processes, and procedures. Understanding of communication concepts, methods and techniques.
Fundamental graphic art techniques, including design and layout. Features and capabilities of industry-standard graphics software and graphics production equipment. Creative and interpretive analysis of different art forms theory, principles and techniques.
Skill in: Producing creative work within an established organizational style and attention to detail. Designing and producing graphics materials using computer-based and traditional methods. * Contributing to design concepts.
Using illustration and design techniques in both digital and print media. Developing print and reproduction specifications. * Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications.
Ability to: Apply creativity and imagination to graphics projects, demonstrating an ability to follow nuanced creative direction. Work under pressure on multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. Work effectively as part of a collaborative environment Understand a creative brief and extrapolate key information from it under the guidance of a creative director; contribute ideas based on client objectives.
Understand and follow through on client objectives and requirements to provide a high level of customer service. Communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels. Develop creative solutions to graphic problems.
Build relationships with colleagues at similar levels, both within and outside of department. Consistently demonstrate a sense of urgency. * Ability to quickly determine priorities in a self-directed work environment so that both creative and operational responsibilities are met.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Art, Fine Arts, Graphic Design or related discipline and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in the design field. ~or~ Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
