Unit Description:Sodexo at Eckerd College is looking for an high performing Grounds and Landscaping Manager to oversee the university grounds at Eckert College, a beautiful bay front campus with a spectacular mile-long Gulf Coast waterfront and white sand beach on 180 acres and over 1M sq ft, in St Petersburg, FL.
The Grounds Manager will be responsible for directing daily grounds and landscape maintenance service operations, supervising daily work activities, assigning and prioritizing work activities, overseeing all grounds work, and general horticulture management. Overall oversight of routine grounds maintenance of planting beds, shrubs, trees, roadways, parking lots, walkways, trash removal and snow removal. Includes but not limited to support of event set up and vehicle parking.
ARE YOU THE ONE?The ideal Grounds and Landscaping Manager will have:
- 3 plus years of grounds maintenance supervisory experience at a large property or campus;
- expereince with commerical irriagation systems, horiticulture projects focused around native and Florida friendly plants, and turf management is required;
- strong skills with hardscapes/paths, and sidewalks campus wide;
- working knowledge of chemicals and irrigation; applicator license is a plus; and
- success managing multiple hourly staff members.
- a valid Driver’s License – driving a company/client/personal vehicle an essential function of this position
