RESPONSIBILITIES
The Groundskeeper is responsible for performing maintenance and landscaping duties at assigned communities. This team member handles the daily upkeep of the community, buildings, and grounds, which also includes cleaning and removing trash. This team member also performs other routine construction and demolition tasks as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for the daily upkeep of the property, buildings, and grounds.
- Responsible for performing maintenance and landscaping duties at assigned communities.
- May perform other duties using hand tools and power equipment as needed.
- Plants and tends flowerbeds, trees, and shrubs; trims and mows lawns; applies fertilizer and insecticides; and utilizes pest control equipment.
- Follows well-established procedures for the basic maintenance of tools and equipment such as lubricating, sharpening, replacing broken handles, making simple adjustments, and repairs, as necessary.
- Assists with pool cleaning.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with community staff and provide outstanding customer service.
- Must be able to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull and move continuously during work hours.
QUALIFICATIONS
· High school education or equivalent.
· Up to 2 years related experience preferred.
· Must be able to operate necessary small machinery (i.e. mower, weed-wacker, etc.).
· Must possess the ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
· Work mostly outdoors.
