Walmart has plans to hire 95 associates to work at a new Walmart Neighborhood Market scheduled to open this winter in Clearwater.
The store has opened a hiring center at 300 S. Duncan Ave., Suite 275, Clearwater and is accepting applications Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to a statement.
The store is looking for full and part-time employees, with the majority of new workers starting in December to prepare the store for its grand opening, the statement said.
Earlier in October, Walmart abandoned plans to build a Walmart Neighborhood Market in Carrollwood after residents in the community protested the plan.
In September the chain announced it would move into a space in Tangerine Plaza in the Midtown neighborhood in St. Petersburg left vacant by Sweetbay Supermarket. That store was also expected to create 95 jobs.
