Position Description
Housing and Community Standards Specialist

Summary: The Housing and Community Standards Specialist provides administrative support for the College’s Housing Office and Office of Community Standards.

Reports to: Associate VP for Student Life

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the implementation of processes related to the administrative and business functions of the Housing Office.
o Assist the Associate Director of Housing in responding to student inquiries regarding campus housing.
o Maintain up-to-date housing software programs (Banner and Archibus).
o Create marketing tools for Housing and Residence Life.
o Assist with room assignments for incoming and returning students and maintenance of the campus housing database.
o Assist with billing for property damages.
o Maintain and process student Withdrawal and College Leave paperwork.
o Provide coverage for the Housing Office in the absence of the Associate Director of Housing.
Assist in the implementation of processes related to the administrative and business functions of the Office of Community Standards.
o Utilize the student conduct software system, Maxient, to review incident reports of community standards violations, create new conduct cases, manage outcomes of student conduct cases including sending reminders regarding completion of outcomes and closing cases when outcomes are completed, transfer hearing recordings to Maxient files, and follow-up with students to ensure letters to students are viewed in a timely fashion.
o Assist with the development of, and participate in, ongoing community standards trainings and workshops for staff, faculty, and students.
o Assist with the advisement of the Student Community Standards Board.
o Assist with the training and supervision of the Student Community Standards Board (SCSB) members.
o Assist with the preparation for conduct hearings.
o Serve as a resource for on-campus and off-campus agencies regarding student conduct history.
o Assist in the implementation of division-wide events such as Autumn Term programs, Family Weekend, Prospective Student Weekend, and Commencement.
Provide general office support to the Office of Student Affairs as needed and requested by the Executive Assistant to the Dean of Students, the Associate Deans, and the Assistant Deans.
Other duties as requested by the Dean, the Associate Deans, or the Assistant Deans.

Qualifications:
Associates Degree preferred.
Excellent computer skills, with special attention to database management skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
A collaborative, team-oriented leadership style.
The ability to maintain confidentiality and exhibit professionalism and maturity in handling sensitive information and student interactions.
Commitment to a church-related liberal arts education and to student development through an integrated approach to student life.
