This position is primarily responsible for monitoring compliance with government housing contracts, building relationships with code enforcement, building inspections, and county housing departments. The candidate will also work with our property management companies and non-profit and government agencies to assist residents with their housing needs. The position also is responsible for managing UACDC’s commercial leases and will assist in property acquisition and development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Urban Planning, or related area preferred or minimum 5 years in real-estate, housing and/or community development. Knowledge of Federal, State and Local affordable housing programs. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Bi-lingual is an added plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply principles of logical or thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software, including proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook and/or other Windows software applications. Ability to quickly learn Property Management and Construction Management software

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in affordable housing financing, sources and uses of funds debt coverage projections for multifamily and single-family
  • Possesses knowledge of housing laws, building and development codes, and tenant/landlord
  • Possesses an understanding of the local housing
  • Has knowledge of public and private affordable housing
