HOUSING SPECIALIST
ASSISTED HOUSING
REGULAR/FULL-TIME
Reports To: SUPERVISOR, ASSISTED HOUSING
FLSA Status: NON-EXEMPT
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision performs a variety of duties pertaining to the occupancy and eligibility of Assisted Housing Programs, plans, organizes, and participates in the housing applicant interview and counseling process; prepares confidential and technical documents pertaining to leases and contracts; advises residents, participants and property owners on Housing Authority policies, regulations, guidelines and procedures. Provides technical guidance and training to coworkers. Represents the department at community meetings and outreach activities as assigned, may assist the supervisor in monitoring the activities of other staff and quality control. Performs various special project assignments with minimal supervision.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Sociology, Psychology or related field. Requires one (1) year of experience in social work, housing or related field; or possession of any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities. Requires Level II Background Clearance.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION: Valid Florida Driver’s License, Insurable under the agency’s insurance policy.
SALARY: $40,919.34
