The purpose of this position is to complete the tasks associated with the gross to net processing of associate paychecks for all US and Canadian associates. The HR Operations Specialist I will complete the necessary process steps to capture time recording, commissions, applicable withholdings, and voluntary/involuntary deductions in order to balance and accurately remit payroll disbursements. This position is responsible for all post-payroll required time and monetary adjustments to ensure all payroll systems accurately capture and reflect the required inputs. The HR Operations Specialist I will be the primary contact for escalated cases from HR Customer Service (HR Advisor II’s) through the case management system.
Operational Delivery and Execution
1. Responsible for execution of payroll processing and non-processing tasks to run weekly/bi-weekly payroll cycles.
2. Identify payroll errors prior to funding related to taxation issues, commission calculations, or base rate.
3. Manage adjustments and update time accruals in Kronos based on corporate policy or CBA’s for all non-exempt employee base.
4. Perform weekly balancing of various payroll system inputs to pay results (i.e. Kronos hours, commissions, incentives, payouts).
5. Identify overpayments through audits and initiate overpayment claims.
6. Process and balance all “off-cycle” checks for termination, adjustments, advance vacation, and vacation payouts.
7. Calculate overtime on all incentive payouts for non-exempt associates.
8. Maintain coding structure of articles in Sales Commission Interface.
9. Respond to all legal inquiries for time recording and pay related documentation.
10. Process payments to third party vendors from payroll funds.
Subject Matter Expert – Payroll
1. First level of escalation for Tier 1 Customer service. Assist Customer Service associates with resolving payroll related inquiries and issues.
2. Provide knowledge transfer on payroll related issues.
3. Support resource/subject matter expert for the field on resolution recommendations for payroll or time related inquiries.
Continuous Improvement
1. Identify gaps in knowledge management process and provide team lead/supervisor with appropriate updates.

Education Minimum Required: High School DiplomaEducation Preferred Level: College coursework in HR, Business, Accounting
Experience Minimum Required: 1+ years in a payroll processing/non-processing environment, Finance, or HR environment
Experience Preferred Level:
2+ years in payroll processing with SAP
Experience with Kronos time keeping system
