Job Title: Human Resources Assistant

- Summary of the main function/purpose of the position:
Provides administrative support to the Human Resources function as needed e.g., generations of correspondence, record keeping, file maintenance. Also provides limited administrative coverage to the Administration building.

- Principal duties/responsibilities:

- Assist with administration of employee health, welfare and retirement plans.
- Assist with open enrollment.
- Provide support for HR projects.
- Employee enrollments and terminations.
- Reviews monthly billing from providers to ensure accuracy and resolves discrepancies with carriers, payroll and employees.
- Work closely with accounting to ensure accurate input of employee allocations.
- Maintains applicant files and generates correspondence to applicants, performs reference, background checks and facilitates drug screening of applicants.
- Maintain records of employee trainings.
- Also maintains a tickler file for the purpose of notifying supervisors in advance of their employees’ initial 90-day evaluation.
- Performs HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance.
- Processes request for employment verification.
- Facilitates administrative communications by efficiently handling incoming phone calls and promptly routing messages.
- Other duties and responsibilities for special projects as assigned.
III. Accountability: Areas in which the position is accountable/responsible:
- Records: Responsible for accurate maintenance of personnel information.
- Human Resources: Maintains complete confidentiality with regards to the records and/or employee/organizational information you become privy to as a member of the HR department.
- Prompt and accurate dissemination of The Spring’s human resources information.
- Business-Related Contacts:
- Internal: All staff
- External: Applicants, volunteers and vendors

- Educational and/or equivalence in experience requirements:
-
- A minimum of high school or equivalent is required. College training in human resources or accounting related fields preferred, but not required.
- Two-plus years of professional administrative support experience required.
- Experience in human resources or accounting is preferred.
- Computer proficiency required, including Windows and MS Office products.
- Valid Florida driver’s license.
