We are looking for a hybrid paralegal/legal assistant to join our personal injury insurance defense and homeowner’s insurance defense team. Full-time preferred, but will also consider Part-Time.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in the past 2 years in legal scheduling and filing through Florida Court e-portals;
• Proficient in using computers, Outlook and Word;
• Working knowledge of legal computer programs and quick-learner of new legal file management software.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Highly organized with ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment (if you do not have this skill, this position is not for you)
• Familiarity with civil law, legal procedures and protocols, and civil court system
• Experience in speaking with Judicial Assistants, counsel and adjusters for scheduling purposes
• Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
• Must be professional in appearance, attire and communications
• Must be a team player and willing to help out in other areas when needed
DUTIES:
• Initial drafting of legal pleadings, discovery and correspondence
• Logging physical and electronic documents into legal software file management systems
• Scheduling depositions and hearings with counsel, clients and through Court’s e-filing system
• Organizing documents for production related to depositions
• Daily communication with firm attorneys to report on progress with tasks
• Create Outlook appointments
• Drafting email to clients
• Maintaining client confidentiality is a MUST
