The Straz Center has begun its search for an Information Technology Operations Administrator. This position is responsible for security-related compliance initiatives and Microsoft Office 365 administration. This role will also ensure the overall availability and operation of IT systems during peak usage.
After the initial 90-day onboarding period, this role will also assume responsibility as the primary on-site IT representative during swing shift hours (typically Friday through Tuesday, 2:00p.m. until 11:00p.m.) to support Center operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintains a proactive patching, upgrading, and maintenance cycle on physical networks, desktop and laptop computers, servers, operating systems, 3rd party applications, phone systems, firewalls, switches, and routers to reduce the organization’s risk.
- Supports the development of annual risk assessments, as well as maintaining the substantial number of existing risk assessments related to compliance, security, and technology.
- Provides expertise in collaboration tools such as SharePoint, One Drive, Planner, Teams, and Flow as part of the daily workload.
- Drives user adoption and advancement of cloud services using Office 365, developing and implementing a governance plan, fostering ownership of applications and sites with stakeholders, collaborating with business units while leading the implementation of advanced features.
- Performs hardware and software installation and maintenance as required for organizational operation.
- Resolves system errors or failures. Identifies system problems and implements corrective actions. Addresses problems in hardware, software, and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- In-depth working knowledge of the various Microsoft server operating systems including: Server 2012 and PowerShell scripting.
- Fluent in Office 365 products and complex hybrid configurations with hands on administration experience on Microsoft cloud technologies, such as Azure and Office 365 and ADFS.
- Experience in maintaining a virtual server environment with VMware ESX server and/or V-Sphere 5.5 and above.
- In-depth working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, remote deployment packages (SCCM), patching, risk mitigation, and vulnerability assessments.
- Experience with a variety of network infrastructure hardware, including SonicWALL and Cisco.
- Experience with Moves, Adds, and Changes on Cisco UC platform.
- Troubleshooting skills and deductive reasoning sufficient to gather relevant symptoms, deduce probable cause, research information sources, as necessary, and resolve the problem in the minimum amount of time.
Education and Work Experience:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience.
- Three (3) or more years’ experience in the design, planning, implementation, and maintenance of a complex IT infrastructure including IaaS.
