B.A.C.H. Land Development, LLC, a general contractor based in Tampa, FL with offices in multiple states, is seeking candidates for the position of Internal Accountant. This newly created position offers the opportunity to lead the development of an accounting department to meet the needs of BACH’s continuing expansion.
Duties of the internal accountant will include:
1) Working directly with CPAs, providing data required for income tax reporting and annual statements prepared by the external accounting firm.
2) Working with divisional administrators for our eleven divisions, assisting with period close processing.
3) Balancing all divisional bank statements
4) Reviewing internal divisional P&L’s, preparing monthly statements for month end, year to date, and year to year comparisons.
5) Creating policies and procedures for the consistent handling of invoicing, bill paying, and monthly reporting.
6) Overseeing all banking transfers and positive pay approvals.
7) Reviewing general ledger entries made by divisional administrators.
8) Reviewing all asset purchases and sales, making appropriate entries to the books and records to reflect accurate asset balances.
9) Reviewing all loan related transactions to assure accurate posting of interest, principal, and remaining liability balances.
10) Monitoring all inter-divisional transactions for proper processing and maintaining records of all inter-divisional liabilities.
11) Working directly with HR and payroll company to assure timely and accurate tax reporting, W2 preparations and 1095 (ACA) submission.
12) Reviewing vendor listing for accurate assignment of EIN #’s, and assist CPA with preparation of 1099’s.
13) Preparing financial data for all audits.
14) Providing financial analysis to evaluate company ventures, special projects, programs, capital expenditures, product costing, etc.
15) Assisting with any special project requiring extensive reporting to governmental agencies.
16) Implementing and maintaining disciplines of internal controls and checks.
17) Overseeing compliance with federal and state regulations.
18) Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities include:
1) Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting-related field
2) Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience as a lead or assistant accounting manager, construction company experience helpful.
3) High level of proficiency in QuickBooks – desktop version
4) Cost Accounting experience
5) Excellent attention to detail
6) Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
7) Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills with ability to interact with diverse audiences using diplomacy and tact.
