Job Description for Junior Accountant

The Junior Accountant is responsible for maintaining / updating financial reports, supporting senior staff in journal entries, data entry to AP, account analysis, and account reconciliations as assigned.. Requirements:

Essential Duties for Junior Accountant

  • Organize and update financial records
  • Prepare bank reconciliations
  • Prepare journal entries for input into accounting system
  • Support departmental budget audits
  • Support accounts payable
  • Support month-end, year-end close process
  • Perform other general accounting duties as needed
  • Performs ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
  • Creates and supports more robust reporting and streamlined processes to achieve $100 million goal

Requirements for Junior Accountant

· Experience using statistical and financial software (e.g., CYMA)

· This position is remote however, the employee must live: AR, FL, GA, KS, MS, OK, TX, or VA

· 3+ years of progressive accounting experience

· Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP

· Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all level of an organization

· Reporting and data analytic skills

· Problem solving skills

· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint)

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting or Finance; MBA preferred.
