POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The Junior Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of Progressive Dental Marketing. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development in the field of accounting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: other duties may be assigned.
- Reconcile banks and credit card statements.
- Reviews, codes and enters all accounts payable bills.
- AR and AP duties including Invoices creation and payments allocations.
- ADP Run payroll Processing.
- Maintains accurate account payable files and historical information.
- Prepare, process and file all Sales, Use and Local Taxes.
DUTIES AND TASKS
- Ensure proper department/GL coding for all AP transactions
- Flag and clarify any unusual or questionable invoice items or prices
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
- Process weekly vendors payments
- Manage company Purchase Orders
- Reconcile general and all special bank accounts and follow up on omissions or discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain company payroll including all associated tax filing requirements
- Prepare and adjust general ledger entries ensuring correct coding for payments are accurate
- Prepare financial statements, schedules and reports in compliance with GAAP.
- Maintain accurate account payable files and historical information
- Special projects or other related tasks and duties as assigned or requested
- Assist with fixed assets list and depreciation schedules
- Assist with prepaid expenses, prepaids, other current assets, accrued expenses, other non-current liabilities
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a marketing or service-oriented industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
