Owners of Kahwa Coffee expect to open a sixth location at a former Wendy’s restaurant in South Tampa by mid-October.
The new café is the first step toward a goal of major expansion in Tampa Bay, said Owner Raphael Perrier.
He intends to open nine stores in the next year and a half, for a total of 15 locations by 2015.
As Tampa Bay Business Journal reported in August, the upcoming location at 3928 Henderson Blvd. will have outside seating, on-site parking and about 2,800 square feet of inside space.
“We want to change the look totally and make it a Kahwa, inside and outside,” Perrier said.
Kahwa Coffee, based in St. Petersburg, was founded in 2006.
