JOB SUMMARY:
The Leasing Consultant reports the Community Manager and/or the Assistant Manager. The Leasing Consultant is responsible for all activities related to apartment rentals, move-ins and lease renewals, including generating and handling traffic, leasing apartments, qualifying prospects, preparing lease documentation and completing move-in procedures in accordance with the company’s and the community’s established policies and procedures. Leasing Consultants provide high quality resident service and convey resident service requests to the Maintenance Technicians and other service associates. This position is also responsible for complying with all state, federal and/or local laws relating to Fair Housing. Some weekends and early evenings will be required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Leasing Consultant is responsible for being a primary contact for residents and prospective residents by leasing apartments, coordinating resident activities and building and maintaining resident relations. Assisting the Community Manager in gathering and compiling current market and economic information and preparing competitive and market analysis and market trends, handling telephone and on-site traffic, showing “ready” apartments, qualifying prospects, closing the lease, completing all related paperwork and activities to ensure a timely move-in.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A strong background in customer service is extremely helpful, as is experience in sales, though individuals with an excellent attitude and willingness to learn will be given consideration. High school diploma required, college degree ideal. Computer literacy in MS Word, e-mail and a familiarity with the Internet required. Experience with
Yardi Software is a plus. Drug test, criminal/credit background check and reliable transportation required.
