Job Summary: This role requires a high level of attention to detail, superb organizational skills, and a deep understanding of legal terminology and court procedures. The ideal candidate is someone who can manage a fast-paced environment, effectively communicate with various stakeholders, and provide purposeful support to legal professionals.
Job Schedule: Initially the position will be Part-Time, with opportunity for Full-Time.
Initial Job Schedule will be Monday – Thursday from 10:00am – 3:00pm.
Job Pay: $15.00/hour first 6 weeks, potential to earn more after training and with paralegal certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answering phone calls, taking messages, and scheduling appointments.
- Maintaining and organizing legal files to ensure they are up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Assisting with legal research and drafting.
- Performing general office duties, such as ordering supplies, maintaining records management database systems, and performing basic bookkeeping work.
- Preparing correspondence, such as letters, memos, and emails.
- Communicating with clients and other legal professionals to schedule meetings, collect, and share information, and client follow up..
- Managing case-related information and documents in a case management system.
- Processing invoices and billing and tracking payments.
- Assisting in preparation client binders.
Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience in a legal environment.
- Proficiency in understanding and analyzing legal documents.
- Comprehensive understanding of databases and tracking systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Notary is desired
Preferred Qualifications:
- Paralegal Certificate
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law or related field
