Job Summary

First American is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to provide litigation and administrative support to the in-house litigation attorneys and professional legal staff of the First American Law Group.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with filing and service of court documents requisite to the litigation practice.
  • Assist with calendaring pertinent court dates and deadlines and communicating deadlines to timekeeper well in advance.
  • Maintain and organize physical and digital case files.
  • Provide pleasant and positive customer service.
  • Maintain confidential information in a professional and trustworthy manner.
  • Work is closely reviewed and directly supervised by paralegal and attorneys.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Three or more years of litigation secretarial experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Civil litigation experience preferred.)
  • Adept at using MS Office, specifically, Outlook, MS Word, and the internet.
  • Attention to detail and quality while maintaining a high level of productivity.
  • Knowledge of filing documents in Florida State and Federal courts.
  • Ability to format a pleading.
  • Flexible, adaptive team player with the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment while maintaining a high degree of professionalism.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of Abacus.
  • Experience with real property law (particularly title insurance and escrow), bankruptcy law, and probate law.
