Estate Planning Attorney Seeks Part-time Legal Assistant for Growing Practice
Attorney with Estate Planning and Elder Law multi-location practice is in search of a Legal Assistant (Part-Time) to join my St. Petersburg office on Grand Central. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for supporting the attorney by performing a variety of duties as outlined below. Experience in one or more of the following legal specialties is a strong plus: guardianships, probate, estate planning, and/or Medicaid applications. Potential to grow into full time position with increased office managerial duties, responsibilities and compensation (though this is not a requirement for this position).
Responsibilities and duties:
- Full spectrum of administrative duties such as answering and directing phone calls and greeting clients
- Conduct intake and screenings of potential clients
- Coordinate appointments and schedule hearings
- Draft documents and letters
- Correspond with counsel, various county courts and clients
- File, organize, scan, copy, mail and email e-file documents
- Occasionally travel to post office, bank or client location (mileage reimbursed)
Skills:
- Proficiency with MS Office, especially Outlook, Word and Excel
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro and manipulating/editing PDF documents
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Courteous and professional demeanor focused on customer service
- Able to take and follow direction
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
Job Type: Part-time (20-25 hours per week); days and hours per week can be somewhat flexible if your schedule can be during regular business hours (between 8am — 5pm).
Salary: $13 to $18 per hour depending on the combination of education, experience and skills
