First Party Property/Insurance Defense Legal Assistant

Kelley Kronenberg’s First Party Property team located in Tampa is looking for a Legal Assistant for their growing team.

The individual in this role will be supporting multiple attorneys and assisting attorneys in defending civil litigation matters. This is a hands-on position that involves working collaboratively with clients and employees of the firm. Candidates must have at least 1 year of litigation or insurance defense experience.

Day to day responsibilities will include:

  1. Maintain attorney’s calendars.
  2. Scheduling hearings, depositions, mediations, and inspections.
  3. Coordinating with judges, opposing counsel, clients, mediators, vendors, and other legal positions in case.
  4. E-Filing via E-Portal, E-Courtesy, and E-Service to opposing counsel.
  5. Managing Case Glide, Acuity, and Atlas portals to update clients.
  6. Handling incoming invoices
  7. Bills clients/ ensures billing requirements are met.
  8. Drafting correspondences to adjusters, clients, mediators, opposing counsels and judges
  9. Drafting motions and notices/ ensuring subpoenas are served, redacting and putting together documents for discovery purposes.
  10. Ensuring deadlines are met.
  11. Calendaring deadlines, hearings, depositions, and mediations.
  12. Opening and closing of a file.
  13. Other administrative tasks as requested by the unit’s paralegals and attorneys.

The focus of this job is on producing high quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines and procedures. Precise, consistent work output is essential requiring patience and a willingness to handle and complete one task at a time. Candidates must have great organization skills, possess excellent typing skills, attention to detail, and have the ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a team environment.
