JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work and keep up in a fast-paced high-volume environment
- Independent self-starter with strong interpersonal skills
- Strong multi-tasking ability
- Must have excellent verbal, written and phone skills
- Must have strong computer skills, including strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Experience with legal software including CLIO is beneficial
JOB DUTIES
– Communicates with clients regarding new matter assignments
– Performs initial conflict check prior to opening new matters
– Opens new matters in the firm’s internal case management system
– Reviews all initial claims file materials and new matter documents to determine completeness and follows up as necessary
– Enters and updates all pertinent data into firm’s internal case management system
– Calculates and calendars initial due dates related to new matters
– Summarizes new matter profile and information for attorney/paralegal assignment
– Drafts initial pleadings and correspondence related to matter intake for attorney review
– E-files pleadings
– Creates weekly New Matter Reports
– Other duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 – $17.00 per hour
