Personal Injury law firm looking to add a legal assistant for Clearwater office. Interested in a position with long term upward mobility? Job Summary:
Under general supervision of experienced attorneys, uses skills gained through training and experience to assist with progressing clients’ litigation cases. Candidate will follow established procedures to perform tasks and receives general guidance and direction to perform other work with substantial variety and varied complexity. Good judgment is required to adapt procedures, processes and techniques to apply to more complex assignments. Candidate will be required to think independently to resolve routine questions and problems and refer more complex issues to attorney for resolution. Routine contact with clients, law firms and judges may be required to exchange basic information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepare and propound discover documents and responses
• Operates standard office equipment and uses required software applications.
• Finalizing and filing pleadings
• Assist attorneys with trial, mediation and deposition preparation
• Prepare medical summaries and compile exhibits for hearings.
Ability to:
• Organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Provide a high level of client care.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Demonstrate good judgment and decision making ability
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training will be considered.
Licenses/Certifications:
None Required Florida Notary a plus.
