About the Position
The Loan Assistant, under Loan Officer guidance, will support communication with borrowers and agents by following up to collect and update documents for pre-approvals and new applications. They will provide support through a variety of supportive tasks to keep things on track for future and prospective origination for the Loan Officer.

Essential Functions

  • Communicate with borrowers and agents in relation to pre-approvals and new applications
  • Organize documents in the loan files and update loan files accordingly
  • Make necessary changes by established standards
  • Initiate communication of where to apply
  • Follow up with borrowers and agents on status
  • Actively learn about different loan products to increase knowledge base
  • Other duties as assigned

Competencies

  • Able to adhere to a work schedule including prompt and regular attendance including availability to work overtime occasionally
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written), analytical thinking skills, and customer service skills
  • Open to learning new ideas & new approaches to everyday issues – all in the effort to meet the client’s expectations
  • Exhibit and practice professional and courteous behavior while interacting with both internal and external customers
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, constantly changing work environment often on a tight schedule

Education and Experience

  • Experience in assisting others within an office setting and being responsible for various administrative tasks including but not limited to: updating information, drafting and proofreading outgoing correspondence, and conducting research to complete assignments
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.

The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds.
