Primary Purpose of Position:
The primary purpose of the Loan Documentation Specialist is to process and prepare loan origination and renewal documents for consumer and commercial loan products via the LaserPro software systems. This position works with loan officers, title companies, and attorneys’ through all states of the document preparation and processing in accordance with established guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepares and reconciles the loan origination documents for commercial and consumer loans from the Loan Estimate to the Closing Disclosures. Ensures all requirements and conditions to close are satisfied before releasing documents for closing. Responsible for carrying a pipeline of 10-15 commercial loans at a time and closing 20-25 loans per month.
- Coordinates commercial and commercial real estate loan documents for processing to meet scheduled closing timeframes. Reviews documents such as title and appraisals. Verifies accuracy of the loan docs including complex calculations on the LPS approval forms.
- Coordinates builder approval process to ensure the loan is ready by the closing date.
- Assists supervisor with the setup, testing, and communication of issues related to new loan products in LaserPro. Reviews release notes from D&H prior to installing the system updates into production for both systems.
- Conducts pre-closing review of loan documents prepared in LaserPro by others, as needed.
Qualifications include but are not limited to:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Prior loan processing experience using LaserPro required
- Knowledge and understanding of commercial and consumer loan documents including Loan Estimates and Closing Disclosures
- Ability to communicate effectively with all internal business partners and external customers
- Excellent time management skills
- Proven analytic and critical thinking skills
- Solid understanding of commercial and consumer loan structures
- Ability to research complex issues
- Working knowledge of federal and state compliance laws and regulations including a proven ability to apply these requirements to business practices and systems.
