Part-time
East Lake UMC is seeking a part-time Maintenance & Groundskeeper to maintain the indoor and outdoor appearance and general maintenance of the campus buildings, equipment and grounds.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES shall include, but not be limited to:
- Maintain necessary equipment in good working condition
- Maintain and clean exterior of buildings & structures including storage sheds, fences, playgrounds, etc.
- Perform set up and breakdown of meeting rooms in church facilities in coordination with regularly scheduled events and special functions of the Church
- Maintenance and repairs as needed and/or occurring, including light bulb replacement, battery replacement in smoke detectors and emergency lights and signs, clearing of storm drains/grates, limb removal, etc.
- Diagnosis and repair as applicable for electrical, plumbing, and other equipment malfunctions
- Mowing of property grass, edging of pavement & sidewalks, weed trimming and blowing
- General cleaning duties of facilities and structures
- Completing daily, weekly and monthly checklists for assigned tasks as well as maintaining scheduled maintenance logs
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
- 2+ years of experience in custodial and maintenance work
- Must be a self-starter, flexible, adaptable, energetic and a team player
- Must be able to communicate clearly with both Staff and Congregants
- Must have the physical strength and stamina to handle and operate all power equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Must be able to work outside in both hot and cold condition
Part-time hours will include Sunday mornings and four days per week.
