This is skilled manual work in the Stormwater, Pavement, and Traffic Operations Department, involving the alteration, maintenance and repair of municipal property. Work requires the use of skilled trade knowledge to install, clean, repair and replace various facility components, including small tools and equipment; and the use of stationary fueling stations as well as mobile fuel transporters to fuel various motorized equipment. Work may also include reading manuals, blueprints and schematics to determine assembly or repair needs for various equipment; skilled use of a variety of tools, painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, mechanical repairs, welding; and preventative and scheduled maintenance. Work may involve lead worker responsibility over one or more semi-skilled workers on an assigned project; and may involve performing heavy manual tasks over extended periods of time, occasionally under adverse weather conditions.
Salary: $18.05 – $25.56 Hourly

- Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License with “X” Endorsement.
- Have at least 18 months of experience in one or more of the building maintenance trades.
- Be able to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
- Acknowledge this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC) and if hired into the position, you must be immediately available to the department before, during, and after a declared emergency and/or disaster.
Desirable Qualifications.Preferred applicants:
- Have experience in welding, commercial/residential carpentry/remodeling.
