THIS IS A PART TIME WEEKEND POSITION.
Job Description/Summary: Responsible for providing maintenance services as needed and/or assigned to 3 separate boutique hotels: Plaza Beach Hotel with 40 rooms, Bayview Plaza Waterfront Resort with 11 rooms and Bay Palms Waterfront Resort with 15 rooms. General Maintenance Technician assist in a wide variety of maintenance activities; addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns; assisting skilled trades; and ensuring that tools and materials and are available at job site when needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Cleans buildings and grounds areas as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of providing an effective hotel environment, preventing damage and/or limiting liability exposure.
- Cleans pool area and arranges pool furniture and equipment for the purpose of providing safe and clean area for hotel guests.
- Performs a wide variety of general and semiskilled maintenance activities (e.g. carpentry, painting, electrical, etc.) for the purpose of completing projects within established time frames.
- Maintains assigned vehicle, tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability in safe operating condition.
- Completes projects (e.g. completing specific tasks, etc.) for the purpose of completing projects in a safe, efficient manner.
- Work with lighting, heating and ventilating systems, plumbing, etc. for the purpose of providing a safe and workable environment.
- Providing information to guests about hotel policies and services.
- Prepares written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.
- Repairs furniture and building system components for the purpose of ensuring a safe working condition.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the hotel properties.
- Pay is negotiable based on experience.
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities SKILLS are required to perform multiple tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating equipment used in skilled trades, power and hand tools, etc.; adhering to safety practices; handling hazardous materials; and planning and managing projects.
Please note, when you schedule an interview time, that prior to your interview, you must take the maintenance pre-employment test (takes approx a half hour). Interviews will be done after completion of the test. Please allow time for both when scheduling your interview time slot.
