This position is based in Tampa, FL but our company operates nationally with an emphasis on large regional malls.
Maintenance Technician – Citrus Park Mall
The Maintenance Technician should have a good understanding of the operating systems of the property, construction practices, preventive maintenance, and safety practices. The Maintenance Technician will ensure that all work requests are completed on time and according to quality standards. The position reports to the Operations Manager and, ultimately, the General Manager and works with a team.
Principle Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot maintenance problems that arise and estimates the best course of action to remedy.
- Inspect and or perform appropriate minor repairs and pre/post maintenance on all; Fire riser equipment, fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, vertical transportation systems, heavy equipment, HVAC systems, plumbing systems, electrical systems, lighting systems, emergency power/generation systems, low voltage systems, sound systems, stage systems, flooring systems and coverings, wall systems and coverings, ceiling systems and coverings, glazing systems and coverings, door systems and coverings, parking lot surfaces, roofing systems, drainage systems, trash compaction equipment, etc. as directed. such equipment as directed.
- Perform all work duties in a neat, safe and orderly manner.
- Adhere to all required safety practices. Ensure compliance with local codes and regulations.
- Must be able to work alongside and or with janitorial staff to complete as needed janitorial responsibilities.
- Must be able to communicate and coordinate effectively with team members, janitorial and security contractors, landscaping contractors and outside service contractors.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License.
- Technical School certifications and/or training preferred in the areas of HVAC, electrical, Plumbing, General Construction and Safety.
- 3-5 years of related work experience in lieu of education allowed.
- Ability to use basic computer programs (Internet, Email, Excel, Word).
- Ability to lift, up to 50 lbs. safely.
- Ability to apply common sense, in order to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Ability to define problems, collect and report accurate, complete and factual information.
- Ability to work and balance time safely and efficiently, while responding to and completing competing projects, requests and as needed priorities.
- Ability to work as a team and or with limited supervision.
- Must be customer service oriented.
- Must be able to maintain a positive attitude under fast paced and constantly changing circumstances.
- Must be available for an alternating 40 hour work week TBD, with varying hours between 6am and 9pm. However, and on infrequent occasions must be available for planned, night, overnight or weekend work, which may require an alternate temporary schedule to accomplish such work. Must be aware that infrequent opportunities for emergency and scheduled overtime conditions may arise.
- Must be extremely safety oriented!
