At South Shore Contracting in Brandon, FL, we’re hiring a construction savvy Maintenance Technician to provide repair, upkeep, and remodeling services at various real estate properties in the Tampa – St. Petersburg – Clearwater metropolitan area.
Are you a jack-of-all-trades who’s skilled in carpentry, flooring, landscaping, plumbing, and everything in between? Are you open to travelling to local job sites on a regular basis? Do you have physical stamina for days and you’re a pro at property upkeep? If so, we want you to apply today.
Your Main Duties as a Maintenance Technician
Your main responsibility is to respond to maintenance and repairs requests at local commercial and residential properties that we maintain and provide them with timely, quality service. Here, your work helps keep clients and tenants happy and ensures hundreds of properties remain in pristine condition. On any given workday, you’ll perform any or all of these following tasks:
- You handle preventative upkeep, installation, and general repairs in and outside of homes and commercial lots.
- You build rapport, communicate, and talk to our seriously-supportive Scheduling Coordinators so that they can help you effectively schedule and manage multiple work orders.
- You texture and paint interiors and exteriors and you perform woodworking and carpentry tasks.
- You install vinyl, laminate, tile, and wood flooring, irrigation and gutter systems, and fix decks and fences.
- Our team receives requests for you to remodel kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor living spaces occasionally.
- You provide plumbing and electrical services, and you operate a computer to share updates with the team and manage your work orders.

- You live in or near Brandon, FL (Tampa Bay area) and you have reliable transportation to and from work sites and the office.
- You have a decent driving record, a valid driver’s license, you’re strong enough to move furniture, and you’re able to pass a background check.
- We ask that you have 5 years or more of general handyman, commercial and/or residential construction, maintenance, and repairs experience. You should be skilled in carpentry, installations, communication, and customer service.
- You have an eye for details, you think analytically, have a great work ethic, and you’re organized.
