Full Job Description
This is unskilled and limited semi-skilled manual work at the Cosme Water Plant in Northwest Hillsborough Countyand pumping stations located in the City of St. Petersburgrequiring the application of skills and knowledge above the basic laboring level. Work is characterized by advanced manual tasks to include mowing, painting, operation of trucks and trailers, and the use of specialized equipment such as hand and power tools, pressure washers, pumps, and generators. An employee in this class may also act as lead worker for intermittent periods.
Salary:$15.00 – $18.58 Hourly
Close Date: Open Until FilledTo QualifyMinimum Qualifications. Applicants must:
- Possess and continue to maintain a valid Driver License.
- Be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Be able to plan and organize routine work details.
- Be able to work a flexible schedule.
- Be able to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time, sometimes under unfavorable weather conditions.
- Be able to operate off-road equipment including tractors and skid-steers.
- Be able to demonstrate knowledge, training, and experience in confined space entry procedures.
- Be able to climb (including extreme heights).
- Acknowledge this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC) and if hired into the position, you must be immediately available to the department before, during, and after a declared emergency and/or disaster.
Desirable Qualifications: Preferred applicants: - Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Have considerable experience performing building and property maintenance and repair tasks.
- Have some knowledge of cleaning materials, methods, equipment, and procedures.
- Have experience operating small turf maintenance equipment.
