This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of shared services systems and software applications. The Shared Services Manager is also responsible for facilitating the maintenance, support and enhancement of applications. This individual will apply proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices to guide his/her development team on issues related to the design, development, and deployment of shared services information and software systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of the administration, support, and custom development of team and services sites and project workspaces for MS SharePoint Server and Office Project Server in development, test and production environments.
- Management of the administration, support, and customization of Serena Business Manager, or any other 3rd party shared service solution, in development, test, and production environments.
- Participates in the evaluation of new 3rd party products as deemed necessary for company use.
- Ensures that backup and site-to-site replication services are functioning normally. Monitors secondary/DR site for failover readiness.
- Ensures that project plans proceed as scheduled and are enforced or modified if needed. Assess and allocates time and resources in order to assign specific tasks to various staff members. Negotiates deadlines, and ensures that they are met. Provides regular updates to management on project and defect status and progress.
- Ensures adherence to coding/programming guidelines and requirements. Review and approve code generated by subordinate programmers & developers. Provide comprehensive documentation for these procedures.
- Establishes flexible processes and ongoing training to ensure that staff members are able to incorporate timely changes (updates, new features) to existing software.
- Manages interaction between Shared Services and other functional areas to maximize organizational effectiveness by negotiating deliverables, following appropriate processes and proposing process improvement.
Leadership/Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises 3-5 employees. Performs supervisory responsibilities by managing and allocating employee resources in accordance with company policies, applicable laws and company initiatives/goals. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training and developing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work (including scheduling); appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Acts as a change agent, and develops a high-performing team in the spirit of exceptional service to all internal and external partners.
Qualifications/Education/Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university plus eight to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior leadership or supervisory experience required; prefer minimum of five years.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required experience:3+ years of experience as a SharePoint Solutions Architect performing analysis, design, development, delivery of Web-based application with strong experience in .NET framework preferred

5+ years of experience in IT management
Preferred experience:
- Knowledge of Project Server administration or other portfolio management tool is a plus.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of or certification in ITIL is a plus.
- Knowledge of other ITSM solutions is a plus
