Franklin Street is currently seeking a Managing Director to lead our commercial property appraisal division based out of our Tampa Corporate Headquarters.
The Managing Director provides management of the appraisal services team and strategic direction for the completion of assignments. The person in this role focuses on overseeing all engaged assignments for quality, timeliness and technical reviews.
The Managing Director will be capable of serving as the principle appraiser and collaborate with team members as needed.
Job Description
– Develops, in collaboration with senior leadership, a strategic growth plan for the market, which includes short and long-term action plans and financial goals.
– Recruits, hires, and manages a team of commercial real estate appraisers.
– Trains and mentors Junior/Intermediate/Trainee appraisers and researchers/analysts by transferring skill and knowledge and reviewing their results.
– Monitors individual staff appraiser performance regarding timeliness, and other established review criteria.
– Develops, manages and maintains client relationships.
– Reviews RFP’s, recommend and/or provide a fee quote, delivery date and specific staff appraiser for a given assignment.
– Manages and reviews assigned jobs via on-going meetings with staff appraisers.
– Performs appraisal reviews regarding methodology, consistency, technical aspects, data quality and overall reasonableness; in a timely manner consistent with deadline/due dates.
– If necessary, acts as principal appraiser in assignments, working independently or in collaboration with other Analysts and staff.
– Develops expertise with proprietary software and various data sources.
– Performs all analyses required for completion of higher level appraisals, including use of Argus for complex income property assignments.
– As needed, engages in complex Litigation Support assignments.
– Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
– Previous review appraiser experience and 15+ years of commercial property appraisal experience.
– Demonstrated ability to source, recruit, hire, train, motivate, and grow a team of highly successful professionals.
– Certified General Appraiser license.
– MAI, SRPA designation and/or MRICS a plus.
– Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a regionally accredited college or university.
– Advanced level of proficiency in computer skills including MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and internet / application software is required along with a willingness and ability to learn new software programs.
– Proficient in Argus.
– Prior experience working with databases strongly preferred.
– Comprehensive knowledge of USPAP.
– Strong work ethic.
– Proactive thinker with a detail oriented approach to problem solving.
