We are currently looking for a Marina Attendant at our Snell Isle Marina who will work under the direction of the Supervisor to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient operation. The Marina Attendant will be primarily responsible for operating the fuel dock and retail store. Candidates must have experience/knowledge of boat handling and nautical terminology, line handling skills, and the physical ability to work around the marina and docks.
This is a year-round, part-time position (not a summer-only position). Pay starts at $10 per hour (depending on experience) plus a share of any gratuities.
Working on weekends is mandatory.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greets and welcomes customers as they arrive
- Helps with docking and tie-up of boats
- Ensures customers are operating fuel pump properly in accordance with SPYC policies and procedures
- Operates the register, takes cash, processes credit cards/member charges, and ensures purchases are accurate
- Stocks inventory
- Helps with ongoing facility maintenance as directed by Supervisor
- Helps other departments as necessary
- Follows daily procedures as directed by Supervisor
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Boat handling skills and knowledge of nautical terminology
- Line handling skills, including the ability to tie bowline, half hitch knots, toss, and cleat lines
- Unlimited or unimpaired ability to walk, bend, stoop, climb, and work safely around water, on a ladder, or in confined spaces
- Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
