Full Job Description

The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for supporting the execution and performance monitoring of all Sourcetoad’s marketing activities in collaboration with the Fractional CMO. Reporting to the company’s Director of Operations, this position serves as the marketing group’s “boots on the ground,” keeping the CMO informed of day to day business activities and needs, as well as responding to ad hoc requests from the leadership team and sales.

Responsibilities include:

Social Media Management

  • Maintain company social media profiles
  • Write and design/procure graphics for posts according to strategy and guidelines
  • Maintain calendar, schedule posts, and post ad-hoc as needed
  • Track and report post performance and provide recommendations for improvement

Internal Communications and Culture

  • Participate actively in all aspects of company culture to gather content for social media and internal communications (various Slack channels, company events, etc.)
  • Write and publish internal newsletter
  • Assist in planning and execution of internal meetings and social events, as needed
  • Coordinate with Operations team to help onboard new employees

Content Marketing

  • Maintain content marketing calendar and list of potential topics
  • Interview internal subject matter experts and perform external research (as needed) to gather content for white papers, blog posts, webinars, etc.
  • Produce company blog posts (write, procure/create graphics, and publish)
  • Produce/assist in production of white papers, case studies, etc.
  • Track and report content performance relative to set goals and KPIs

Websites

  • Maintain and update website content
  • Track and report analytics

Events and Conferences

  • Maintain company event and conference calendar
  • Oversee trade show/conference presence, including logistics, personnel registrations, collateral and swag deliveries, etc.
  • Attend trade shows and conferences as needed to support sales team
  • Represent Sourcetoad at company-sponsored events as needed
  • Track and report event performance relative to set goals and KPIs

Public and Media Relations

  • Maintain current list relevant awards and manage applications to deadlines
  • Maintain current trade media contact list
  • Monitor relevant trade media editorial calendars and HARO for PR opportunities

Sales Support

  • Create sales decks, proposal templates, and other sales and marketing collateral
  • Design and order swag for customers and employees
  • Execute customer email campaigns as needed

Research

  • Conduct market research as needed
  • Assist sales in gathering client feedback, testimonials, etc.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in relevant positions; 5+ years preferred
  • Proficiency and experience with social media marketing
  • Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills
  • Capacity to work independently and constantly learn and improve
  • Resourcefulness and a bias to action, willing to pitch in to achieve broader goals
  • WordPress content management experience (or a willingness to learn)

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field
  • Solid understanding of website and marketing analytics tools
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Familiarity with CRM tools
  • Technology background or interest
  • Travel: 10% (in normal times)
