The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a PR Marketing Manager at the Tampa Area Command, located at our Tampa, FL location.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Participates in, support and contribute to all aspects of the development program; works with the Director of Development and other members of the development department to achieve all defined goals of the department. Assists in the procuring of program funds through events or relationships as directed. Plans, coordinates, and monitors all public relations and marketing functions necessary to promote and conduct fund-raising programs. Plans, coordinates, and supervises arrangements for all special event functions in the county.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the principles and practices of public relations. Knowledge of acceptable fundraising methods and strategies. Ability to prepare effective printed materials for educational and promotional purposes. Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army. Ability to follow through with all development initiatives. Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form and at multiple levels throughout an organization. Familiarity with donor management systems as well as Word, Excel and other commonly used computer applications. Ability to represent The Salvation Army through strong interpersonal skills while working with donors, staff, volunteers, and the general public. Must possess poise, diplomacy, and a professional appearance. Ability to focus on outcome rather than process.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college and three years’ experience in fund raising or related field.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
