The Ritchie Hockey Foundation is a fast-growing, non-profit organization focused on helping kids learn the importance of teamwork, strength of character and other important life skills through participation in youth hockey. The Foundation is hosting a major fundraising initiative in February 2017, and is in need of a Marketing Assistant to help with the planning and execution of the associated events.

We are seeking a forward-thinking Marketing Assistant with a strong knowledge of today’s digital media landscape. The intern will help us attract, cultivate and grow an engaged and supportive online community, and enhance the Foundation’s website, as well as the microsite created for the events. Additionally, this person will work directly with corporate sponsors to assist with advertising and promoting the events. The Marketing Assistant selected for this position will be a critical thinker with excellent written and oral communication skills who is able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of a golf and hockey event
  • Assist with website redesign
  • Monitor and post compelling content on various social media outlets
  • Online outreach program through email and social media
  • Website and social media optimization
  • Assist in sponsorship advertising
  • Work with graphic designer to create marketing material
  • Monitor donations and send follow up materials
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Education : Obtained or pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, or other related discipline.

Experience : Experience in social media, graphic design, and event planning preferred.

Skills & Knowledge :

  • Experience in event planning and organization
  • Experience in majority of social media platforms
  • Experience in creating email blast
  • Ability to work in a team environment with multiple different players
  • Presentation skills to different members of the board and committees
  • Exceptional problem solving skills
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, priority-shifting environment

Job Environment:
Working Conditions : Normal business office environment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for periods of time while constantly operating a computer or other office productivity machinery such as a telephone. The employee will occasionally move about the office or at an event site to move and set up marketing material. The employee must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds.
Travel : Minimum, as required.
