Straz Center is currently looking for an Events Marketing Coordinator. The Events Marketing Coordinator is responsible for creating and executing marketing and promotional campaigns.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Under the guidance of the Senior Marketing Manager, creates and implements, and receives necessary approval of marketing and promotional plans for all assigned events
    • Identifies and/or develops appropriate audiences and advertising avenues available to gain maximum return for the marketing and promotion of each assigned event.
    • Marketing activities include but are not limited to the negotiation and execution of :
      • Media planning
        • Media buying
        • electronic (TV, radio, online)
        •  print
        • outdoor
        • digital
        • social
        • non-traditional
      • Media promotions
      • 3rd party promotions
      • Event planning and execution
      • Special offers
      • Social media
      • Collateral distribution
      • Community partnerships and strategic alliances
      • Production requests and execution (collateral and electronic media)
      • Obtaining media sponsors
    • Maintains the marketing budgets of assigned events in a fiscally responsible manner
      • Prepares, records and codes event invoices for payment in a timely fashion, receiving appropriate approvals
      • Prepares financial advertising settlements for all events, by standard deadlines, as assigned
    • Ensures all Straz materials conform to accepted standards of accuracy, clarity, impact, sponsor recognition, timeliness and style
  • Regularly reports sales and promotional activity for all assigned events.
    • Submits a weekly written report each Thursday summarizing work progress, marketing summaries, sales projections and upcoming strategies
    • Regularly analyzes tickets sales of assigned events and provides updated forecasts, as needed, utilizing all tools and software’s available including but not limited to:
      • RMA
      • Segmentation Engine
      • Tessitura
      • T-stats
    • Attends weekly Programming/Ticketing/Marketing meeting
    • Attends weekly event marketing team meeting

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

This position does not contain supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications to include Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work productively in teams and to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients and staff.
  • Demonstrated strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Creative self-starter who is able to successfully manage multiple projects and respect multiple deadlines while changing priorities on a tight schedule.
  • Dependable and reliable work habits.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends, as required.

Education and Work Experience: 

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience in marketing, advertising, communications or arts.
  • Two – three years of experience in a related field.
