Big Sea, a digital marketing agency and full-service HubSpot Gold partner, is looking for a Marketing Director to join our team in beautiful downtown St. Petersburg. As the Marketing Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing inbound and traditional marketing strategy for a diverse range of retainer-based clients located across North America. While we have found every marketer brings a unique set of skills, the ideal candidate for this role will have combination of digital, traditional, content, and social marketing know-how along with fantastic writing and editing abilities. Experience using the HubSpot platform is a huge bonus, but not necessary.

In this role, the  marketing strategist will use their skills and experience to build internal and external relationships, lead ideation meetings, execute media relations campaigns, and manage the production of design assets. Gaining an in-depth knowledge of tools like HubSpot along with Google Analytics, Adwords, and Webmaster Tools, you will continuously identify opportunities to iterate and improve on your clients’ marketing programs. As the key account contact for your clients, you can juggle numerous project deadlines and thrive in an open and collaborative environment. This role requires a deep appreciation for the digital technology space and an insatiable desire to stand out from the crowd.

You will report directly to the CMO, but additionally will work with the Content, Design, and Development teams to ensure you’re collaborating on ideas for producing interesting, buzzworthy campaigns.

You’ll help create comprehensive digital strategies for our clients, covering all aspects of their digital presence including paid, earned, owned and shared touch points. Your clients may range from local attorneys to national

Strategy

  • Identify client business goals and develop key performance indicators to create measurable goals
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative primary and secondary research to gain clear, polished insight, using tools such as web and social analytics, online brand studies, social listening, digital ethnography, web intercept studies and syndicated research
  • Consult on media strategy such as search, display, social, sponsored content and influencer outreach and be able to execute on said strategy
  • Create ROI forecast models to support the cost for digital marketing campaigns

Creative

  • With guidance of CMO, concept and pitch creative marketing strategies, ideas and campaigns to clients – both existing and prospective

Measurement

  • Ability to analyze data, determine insights and develop recommendations to optimize the experience/messaging
  • Ability to develop KPIs and determine ROI for strategies and associated tactics

Account Management

  • Maintain open and consistent dialogue with clients and internal team on account status and health, goals, next steps, etc.
  • Look for opportunities to maintain and grow client relationships

Communication

  • Facilitate team and client meetings
  • Prepare regular status reports and lead status meetings with clients
  • Keep project teams well-informed
  • Deliver engaging, informative, well-organized presentations as needed
  • Understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
  • Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion

Here’s what we require:

  • BA/BS degree in Communications or Marketing strongly preferred
  • 5+ years experience in marketing preferred
  • Collaborative approach
  • Strong desire for continuous learning
  • Excellent communicator, both in written and verbal channels
  • Highly organized, strong manager of time and workflow
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use data to inform all decisions
  • Proficiency in marketing automation and blogging software in order to generate traffic, convert visitors into leads, and then nurture them (using dynamic workflows) into converted customers
  • Bonus skills: HubSpot certifications, WordPress and web-based CMS experience
