Twenty years ago Ocean Optics released its first spectrometer – today you can find our products all over the planet, even in outer space. Our products slammed into the moon and discovered water, analyze complex samples for medical testing and monitor agricultural conditions across the globe.
Now we are looking for someone to help tell the story of Ocean Optics to the world; someone who wants to tell our story and enable our customers to find answers to the most complex and difficult questions.
We are searching for a new Marketing team member to join a creative and productive team. In this role, you will work with the Marketing and Product Development team to determine and communicate the global marketing messages of Ocean Optics, the global leader in miniature spectroscopy. Using a diverse set of tools and tactics, the Marketing Media and Communications Manager (your new title) will oversee all outbound media including: website, advertising and print media, social media, tradeshow support and video.
The successful candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities in the organization:
– Lead the development and execution of creative content that communicates global customer messages
– Identify and target new customers through established and new media opportunities to drive our business
– Champion the outbound media footprint for Ocean Optics globally by developing and controlling the implementation of a global Brand Standard.
– Maintain and update our existing web presence. Driving customer participation and lead generation through the existing infrastructure
– Develop a new website platform to grow our image, reputation and reach internationally. New web platform to include many new customer-facing features and benefits.
– Develop a team of “A-players” to execute media globally.
– Continuously improve our creative team to deliver compelling outbound media. Be innovative in all media types demonstrating the leadership of Ocean Optics in the marketplace
– Drives the communication of creative content and promotional materials including:
•Promotional webinars
•Marketing collateral •Brochures
•Customer-facing instrument and application presentations
•Technical and Application Notes
•Technical seminars
•Peer-reviewed papers and editorials
•Sales facing collateral

Necessary and preferred qualifications:
Requires a bachelor’s level degree or equivalent experience in a Marketing Communications discipline
•Minimum of five (5) years of outbound marketing experience
•Preference will be given to candidates that have strong web development and strong internet marketing skills.
•Previous management experience is not required but preference will be given to candidates that have prior experience leading and development teams.
