Who Are We?

J & Carol Scott are entrepreneurs, investors and real estate professionals. They are married, have two children, and currently run their business/brand out of their home in south Sarasota, FL. Over the past decade, they have bought and sold tens of millions of dollars in investment real estate and have gained a reputation as national influencers in the real estate investing industry. They speak nationally, have a popular podcast aimed at entrepreneurs, have written several best-selling books, and provide education and training to thousands of aspiring real estate investors and professionals.

After a few years of working on their own, the pair have recently relocated to Sarasota and are looking to grow their business and expand their brand. In addition to their real estate investing and the education side of the business, they have recently launched a full-service concierge brokerage focused on helping local homeowners and investors buy, sell, and design their properties.

J & Carol are looking for their first hire, a key team member who will be integral in every aspect of their business and professional lives, helping them and the company manage and grow.

What is the Role?

The role is a combination of Marketing Specialist (to help grow all parts of the company/brand) and Executive Assistant
(to help manage and coordinate J & Carol’s professional lives).

J & Carol are looking to grow the next phase of their business and are looking for someone who can help “manage the office,” coordinate and execute its marketing strategy, and be the first point of contact for customer relationships.
Additionally, this role would serve as personal assistant to both J & Carol, managing their professional communications, coordinating their schedules, communicating with professional contacts and – more generally – organizing their professional lives.

The ideal candidate is professional, flexible, polished in written, verbal, and visual communication, and has a background
– or at least an interest – in real estate and/or real estate investing. Note that flexibility is of paramount importance in this role. Day-to-day tasks are likely to change and evolve as the business grows and as the owners identify additional company needs. The ability to wear multiple hats will come in handy for this role.

Note that while this position isn’t a training position, this is a tremendous opportunity for someone who is looking to get more deeply involved in real estate, either from a sales or investing standpoint. The right candidate has a long-term opportunity for growth into several real estate specific roles in the company.

In addition to the list of responsibilities and essential traits we require, the best candidate for the role will also need to have a flexible schedule, be willing to work both in our house (you will have a dedicated space) and remotely, and be a self-starter that doesn’t require strict supervision. If you work best under strict supervision and rigid guidelines, then our company will not be a fit for you.

Job Duties and Core Responsibilities:

Marketing Specialist

  • Help shape a marketing plan for various aspects of the company/brand
  • Assist in content writing for email campaigns, social media platforms, newsletters, etc.
  • Drive, manage and execute marketing/mailing campaigns with our vendors
  • First point of contact for new/existing brokerage customers (phone, email, etc)
  • Create short videos to communicate important information to customers
  • Coordinate & schedule media opportunities for the owners
  • Solicit, coordinate and schedule potential podcast guests; maintain guest relationships

Personal Assistant

  • Monitor and respond to professional emails
  • Manage owner calendars and deadlines
  • Manage speaking engagement schedule
  • Manage business paperwork, office organization and administration duties
  • Manage Virtual Assistants
  • Assist in investment project management tasks
  • Coordinate travel arrangements
  • Manage vendor relationships & coordinate invoice payments

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

  • Outgoing personality with excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and visual
  • Good judgment and ability to effectively interface with customers, vendors & media
  • Flexible self-starter with strong interpersonal skills, detailed oriented and emotional intelligence
  • Effective time management and organizational skills, proven ability to prioritize while simultaneously managing numerous projects/processes often under tight deadlines
  • Ability to understand problems, think critically, and identify creative solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); advanced skills preferred
  • Ability to keep owners accountable to important deadlines
  • Comfortable with ambiguity & ever-changing priorities
  • Flexible schedule and be able to work effectively both on-site and remotely

Desirable Qualifications/Skills (Preferred But Not Required):

  • Real estate background or interest
  • Tech savvy
  • Digital marketing, email promotions, social media management experience
  • Graphic design skills

Hours & Pay:

  • Hours are negotiable – Minimum 20 hours per week
  • $15-20/hour, depending on qualifications

Salary: $30,000.00 to $40,000.00 /year
