We are currently seeking a highly organized, outgoing and adaptable Membership & Communication Coordinator.

Responsibilities and Duties

Position Summary: Membership is of course, the highest priority of a Chamber of Commerce when it comes to keeping the organization fiscally strong. Providing programs, products and services (benefits) for the members and being able to articulate those benefits is of prime concern. Retention of members begins before the sale, by developing and communicating a strong business plan, one that meets the needs of a diverse membership. Including but not limited to:

· Retention of members

· Recruitment of members

· Membership Directory

· Database management

· Aging Reports/Collections

· Sponsorship

· Newsletter

· Social Media

Qualifications and Skills

Job Specifications & Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three to five (3-5) years of experience in account management or client relations.

· Must have strong knowledge of the region and business community and experience in interacting with this market.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).

· Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, on the telephone and in writing.

· Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize responsibilities.

· Ability to consistently meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.

· Strategic thinker with creativity and innovation.

· A self-starter who is able to work both independently and as part of a team.

· Computer proficiency in Windows, MS Office – including Outlook, Word and Excel.

Work Conditions/Physical Demands

The Membership & Communications Coordinator works in a typical office environment. On a standard work day, the majority of time is spent sitting at a desk, using the computer and speaking on the phone. However, on a regular basis, the Membership & Communications Coordinator will be required to attend Chamber or related outside meetings/events on behalf of the Chamber. These meetings/events may take place outside of regular business hours.
