Responsibilities

Treliant seeks an experienced residential mortgage default specialist available immediately.  Duties will be performed remotely.  The default specialist will be responsible for assisting mortgage customers on forbearance plans with finding fair and sustainable solutions for repayment.  The role will assist management with maintaining compliance with investor, insurer, guarantor and regulatory requirements. This includes utilizing guidelines, policies and procedures to adhere to approved repayment plans. Duties include the following:

Duties:

  • Communicates effectively with mortgage customers via inbound and/or outbound telephone calls
  • Identifies customers’ ability to repay
  • Works through all company, investor, insurer, guarantor and regulatory requirements to determine options available to customers to repay debt resulting from forbearance agreements
  • Accurately updates required systems
  • Guides customers to other areas as may be needed to resolve non-forbearance related issues
  • Escalates issues as needed
  • Works with default specialist leads and management to resolve issues

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in the residential mortgage industry (originations, collections, servicing, customer service, etc.)
  • Detail oriented with an emphasis on adherence to established and approved guidelines and requirements
  • Must have excellent telephonic skills and professional telephone etiquette
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to follow scripts while adhering to tight deadlines
  • Ability to remain calm and de-escalate tense situations
  • Ability to identify issues and escalate as needed
  • Experience reading mortgage documents including mortgage obligation documents, guidelines, regulations, etc.MSP experience required
  • MS Office
