Project Manager
Department: Operations
Operations Area: DC / Utah / Texas / Florida / Colorado / North Carolina / Georgia / Tennessee
Reports to: Director of Construction
Subordinates: General Superintendents, Superintendents, and Assistant Superintendents.
Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday (some days may require more than 8 hours, some weeks may require additional workdays). May be required to attend industry/company functions outside of normal business hours.
Position Summary
The Project Manager (PM) will assist the Director of Construction to attain production goals and is directly responsible for overseeing the field construction operations within the Region. Superior leadership skills are critical overseeing the field crews in the operations department. The PM will represent Camp to the customers with the highest level of competence and professionalism.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
The PM must communicate with other Camp employees, vendors, subcontractors and clients including property-level, mid-level and upper level executives and owners. The PM must have sufficient education, experience and communication skills (oral and written) to effectively discharge the assigned duties. Must have completed OSHA 30 course, or complete one within the first 180 days of employment with Camp.
Responsibilities
The Camp Project Manager (PM) represents Camp in company meetings and events, on the jobsites and at industry functions. The PM is responsible for the following key duties:
- Supervise, train and motivate the superintendents.
- Assist superintendents in solving complex construction and code problems.
- Ensure that company’s policies and procedures are followed including jobsite safety program.
- For all assigned jobs:
- Review engineering and architectural drawings and specifications; assist with estimating job costs; and, monitor progress and ensure compliance with plans and schedules.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings; inspect jobsites at least weekly; produce weekly reports to the Director of Construction; verify change orders are documented; and, ensure customer satisfaction through job completion; and, assist sales team with facilitating collections as needed.
- Oversee buyout for each project and cultivate & maintain healthy, effective and mutually beneficial relationships with vendors and subcontractors, while seeking out new sources for same. Spot-check payables weekly.
- Investigate and resolve client inquiries and complaints.
- Advise Director of Construction of problems with staff and projects.
- Create increased profitability through creative cost-saving measures.
- Participate in the emergency on-call rotation and manage the BUCU process and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
