Title: Multifamily Developer – Real Estate
Multifamily Management, Inc and its Non-Profit partners are seeking an Experienced Multifamily Developer to join their team!
This position will develop new affordable multifamily housing projects and the preservation of existing affordable multifamily housing projects. Will take projects from concept to permanent financing. Must have a significant understanding of all aspects of the development process and use of tax credits and other sources of subsidy financing. Will collaborate with Property Management, Finance, Legal Counsel and Asset Management.
A telecommute option is available for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Strategically analyze projects to determine feasibility
- Represent developer in meetings with various local governments, agencies and lenders
- Initiate, coordinate and manage partnerships with other developers, non-profits and lenders
- Pursue new project opportunities for multifamily development
- Prepare cost and operating budgets for potential acquisitions, rehabilitation and new construction, other documents as required for a variety of transactions and other purposes
- Prepare applications for grants and loans
- Monitor budgets and draws during construction/rehab to maintain compliance with established budgets; recommend change orders as needed during construction
- Ensure that all close-out procedures are completed to move project to property management
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field and a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in LIHTC Multifamily Development and/or relevant real estate experience
- LIHTC Experience must be recent. Must have closed on a LIHTC transaction in the past 5 years
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Knowledge and experience using affordable housing financing programs (HOME, LIHTC, Federal and State Historic Tax Credits, bonds, Federal Home Loan Bank products, etc)
- Successful in writing funding applications.
- Ability to develop cost and operating proformas for affordable multifamily housing development.
